Would you like a job?

Journal Entry: Fri Jun 19, 2009, 7:49 AM

FROM YESTERDAY'S BRISTOL EVENING POST:

Outside Bristol Zoo is the car park, with spaces for 150 cars and 8 coaches. It has been manned 6 days a week for 23 years by the same charming and very polite car park attendant with the ticket machine.

The charges are £1. per car and £5. per coach.

On Monday 1 June, he did not turn up for work.

Bristol Zoo management phoned Bristol City Council to ask them to send a replacement parking attendant.

The Council said "That car park is your responsibility."

The Zoo said "The attendant was employed by the City Council... wasn't he?"

The Council said "What attendant?"

Gone missing from his home is a man who has been taking daily the car park fees amounting to about £400 per day for 23 years

Thats £3.3million quid ....................

Ha! Saw all the stuff about this on telly, and everyone falling over themselves to make sure we all knew it was a myth. Bloody killjoys! This is the kind of thing that puts the 'Great' in Great Britian. We are a nation of idiots. Long live 'idiots'.

I only wish I had thought up this scam.

I hope to hear of something like this happening, and being true. Wouldn't that be brill? :D

I wish it were a true tale.

If it were, I'd say "good job to the attendant". He/She deserves the retirement.
:iconmytharcana:
So, what is 3.3 million quid in USD? Like $22 trillion?? LOL!! That's a pretty good story! There was a similar thing here at the zoo where this group of people had a valet parking racket using city parking spaces that nobody seemed to know about! They made millions for years charging people to park in city spaces that somehow got overlooked but the city! Man, what am I not crafty and scheming like that?? LOL!
