PLEASE USE FULL VIEW

Once magic was all around and humans knew how to call on it, to use it to keep the world in harmony and protect the earth and all its inhabitants.

But slowly it began to die away as fewer and fewer practiced its rituals and believed in its power.

The belief in "science" and "logic" began to gain strength, shoving aside the concepts of, and belief in, magic.

Humanity began to believe the magic had somehow become evil, something to be avoided. And the world became a different place.

Since time immemorial, he and his kind have been waiting for the day he no longer needs to stay hidden from the world.

For the day when humanity has evolved to the point where they will once again embrace the ways of the old magic.

For them to realize they must reconnect to the land they live on before it's too late.

But today is not that day . . . not yet.

For now all he can do is let them know he believes in them and that as long as they continue to believe in him, he and the others will be there -- waiting.

Unearthly creatures of ethereal beauty,

No one may see them save those who are pure.

In legend and fancy they were created,

Can one ever explain their powerful lure?

Over and over their mysteries enchant me

Real or imagined? Extinct or alive?

Now and again I feel they protect me,

Safeguarding my dreams, so that they may thrive.

A digital painting - "The Rainbw Unicorn" - can this be how rainbows are formed? It would be nice to think so x

Pure fantasy - I hope you enjoy him as much as I enjoyed painting him - I awoke at night with ideas for this painting and then just let them run - and run..........x

Corel 11 and a wacom tablet - the WIP's for this one are in my gallery - I may produce an animated wip later on. The original photo reference of a girl riding a horse was from a magazine.
